Nine Roses Jewelry
Project Overview
Looking to add a new section to their website, Nine Roses reached out to have some additional web pages designed. Through our discovery process, we found there was a common pain-point for the in-store jewelers who wanted more clarity around what prospective clients might want when it came to semi-custom pieces. Together, we built what is now the Heirloom Rose Collection pages; including the subsequent ‘custom design’ flow.

User Research: Pain Points
Trust: Building a reputable jewelry clientele that is will to complete such a large expense almost entirely online.
Access: Prior to this build, the web experience was super limited and the client had a primary focus on in-store sales.
Misinformation: The clients made it clear that they wanted to combat some of the most common questions when it comes to jewelry buying.
Takeaways
Impact: Since completing this project, the clients have moved their brick and mortar location to a new space and have committed to an appointment only style service. The site is now their main point of contact for perspective clients AND manages almost all of the sales of their on-demand merchandise.
What I learned: Phew. I did not (and still don’t) know a lot about jewelry. But creating this experience opened up a lot of dialogue around the order funnel, what buying unique pieces really feels like from a consumer and a retailer, and it also gave me a first experience in designing for a platform with such regimented guides as Shopify!
